Usage

The donor tube serves as the conduit between the bag and the tube set during filling processes in cryopreservation applications.

Material

Co-extruded with a Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) exterior and Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) interior. Note: CryoStore Freezing Bag CS25, some CryoStore Freezing Bag CS50, and CryoStore Multi-Chamber Bag CS30M9 have EVA donor tubes and do not have a PVC exterior.

• PVC provides flexibility, allowing for ease of handling and manipulation during use.
• EVA offers durability in freezing conditions, ensuring the integrity of the tube and its contents during cryopreservation.

Serialization

In most CryoStore products, the donor tube is printed with serialized numbers, which can be utilized as aliquots (approximately 100 microliters each), facilitating accurate sample tracking and identification.

• If the bag is also printed, serialized numbers on the tube match those printed on the bag, ensuring alignment and traceability of samples.

Sealing

Generally compatible with standard lab tube sealers for secure closure.

• Specific tube sealer models may vary, and users are encouraged to validate compatibility with their equipment.

Optimized Design

The donor tube is placed in the corner of the bag for easy debubbling and sealing during sample handling processes.

• Sealing the donor tube below the spike ports is recommended. This allows for a better fit in the cassette and reduces the risk of bag breaks, as indicated in the Instructions For Use (IFU).
