The week of April 24-30, 2022, is Medical Laboratory Professionals Week (MLPW), the 45th annual celebration of health professionals who work in the lab and play a critical role in clinical diagnostics and every aspect of patient care. Lab Professionals Week increases recognition and appreciation for the medical laboratory profession and is held every year during the last full week of April. It was established in 1975 as National Medical Laboratory Week and is supported by the American Society for Medical Technology, now known as the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS). [1] It is coordinated by a collaborative committee that includes members from 17 national clinical laboratory organizations. [2]
Many of OriGen’s end users work in the cell therapy lab, overseeing lab operations, working at academic hospital-based cellular therapy laboratories, or at the transfusion medicine labs at multi-site hospitals. OriGen recognizes the importance of laboratory professionals and would like to express our appreciation to all dedicated medical laboratory professionals who tirelessly work behind the scenes in hospitals and other medical laboratories, ensuring the quality and safety of patient care.
In honor of Lab Week 2022, OriGen reached out to our laboratory customers and offered to send anyone in their lab a custom t-shirt and some nostalgic, 80’s-inspired OriGen swag to match the theme of ‘Back to the Lab [Future]!’ We held a giveaway to pay for the virtual attendance of two laboratory professionals to ASGCT 2022. And we did a preview for a lab customer of our new CryoStore FLEX bag along with some breakfast sandwiches. OriGen employees also got a shirt and wore it this week to show our support for laboratory professionals who use our products every day! Thank you for everything that you do!
